Meet William Pengly

We were lucky enough to have Will join the Unconditional Finance team about a year ago, as he provides our team with extensive knowledge of the various processes and procedures within banks. This knowledge allows him to tailor our client’s loan applications, ensuring a smooth process from submission to unconditional approval.

Outside of work, Will spends his much-deserved time off reading crime and mystery books, playing PlayStation and binging TV shows. He is very family-orientated and loves spending quality time with his loved ones.

What inspired you to become a broker/analyst/manager/officer, and how did you get started in the industry?

I started off my career in banking in 2011 with Macquarie Bank. I spent a couple of years finding my feet in the banking world and decided to move into a home loans operations role in 2013 within Macquarie, where I spent the next 6 years building my knowledge and skills and developing quite the passion for the industry. After leaving Macquarie, I worked for a broker for 1.5 years, before moving onto Unconditional Finance in early 2022. Over the past 2.5 years, I expanded on my skillset and knowledge as an analyst, and have now progressed into becoming an accredited broker.

If you could describe your work style in three words, what would they be?

Efficient, detail-oriented, logical

Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know?

I used to play the trumpet in the school band.

If you could share a meal with anyone from any era, who would you choose and why?

JK Rowling, as I love Harry Potter and would love to talk to her about how she was able to imagine up such a story/world.

Can you share a story where you helped a client (it doesn’t matter how small or big) that makes you smile?

What’s one piece of advice you always give to first-time homebuyers or to investors?

What’s your favourite way to unwind after work or during the weekend?
